The word Charkra comes from Ancient San-skrit, meaning the "wheel of light", 

There are 7 Chakras that need to be aligned by meditation. Having blocked chakras can often lead to illness, so here is the basic representation of what each Chakra does and what needs to be done to keep our energy flowing.

1. The Root Chakra: Represents our foundation and the feeling of being grounded. The location of this Chakra is in the tailbone area.

2. The Sacral Chakra: Our connection and acceptance to new experiences and others. The location of this Chakra is your lower abdomen. About two inches below the navel and two inches in.

3. The Solar Plexus Chakra: Our ability to be confident and in control of our lives. The location of this Chakra is the upper abdomen in the stomach area.

4. The Heart Chakra: Is our ability to love. The location of this Chakra is the centre of the chest, just above the heart.

5. The Throat Chakra: Is our ability to communicate. The location of this Chakra is the throat.

6. The Third Eye Chakra: Is our ability to focus and see the big picture. The location of this Chakra is on your forehead between the eyes. This Chakra is also called the Brow Chakra. The color associated with this is violet. On the emotional side, this Chakra helps with spiritual advancement, cleansing emotional addictions, helps to release painful memories, heals the emotionally shattered and brings the sleep pattern into balance.

7. The Crown Chakra: Is the highest Chakra, It represents our ability to be fully connected spiritually. This Chakra is located at the very top of the head. The color associated with this is white. On the emotional side, this Chakra helps bring you peace, purity, helps cut through any mental confusion, encourages the growth of new ideas and helps shy people open up.
